Harbor UCLA Infectious Diseases Campus and Level I Trauma Center

Since 1951, Harbor-UCLA Medical Center has enjoyed a strong affiliation with the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA.  Our campus is one of the key program sites for the overall UCLA CTSI, with approximately 300 full-time Faculty all having appointments through the David Geffen School of Medicine.

The convergence of outstanding clinical care, leadership in translational research, renowned Faculty, and a highly diverse patient population make Harbor-UCLA Medical Center a unique training experience.  Our national and international reputation as a world-class training hospital and biomedical research campus attracts many top medical school graduates, housestaff, and visiting Faculty from across the nation and around the globe each year.

Harbor-UCLA Medical Center is one of just five Level I Trauma Centers in Los Angeles County, and the only such Center in the South Bay.  The campus is a focal point for healthcare services with over 700,000 residents in the greater South Bay catchment area.  For nearly seventy years, the hospital has provided high-quality healthcare to patients regardless of ability to pay.

The Harbor-UCLA campus provides care for a diverse and dynamic population that represents a global community.  This unique intersection of cosmopolitan culture affords the opportunity to participate in a leading-ege training program that reaches out to the world.  Education at all levels and venues emphasizes problem solving in the context of excellent patient care and safety, ethics, preventive medicine, and scientific inquiry.
